White-Noise Quarantines, Wave Propagation, and the Riddle of Dark Hydrogen

In this expansive communication, Reptiliandude explains that humanity hasn’t detected purposeful radio signals from deep space due to a mix of stellar noise, advanced spread-spectrum technologies, and an intentional, directed “white-noise” quarantine imposed on our solar system. Critiquing the removal of radio propagation specifics from public school curricula, he breaks down how different wavelengths function—comparing lower frequencies traversing rural foliage to tight, city-bound frequencies bouncing like pinballs through concrete buildings. The narrator cryptically hints that while gamma rays would technically be highly effective for communicating through high-pressure, heavy underwater environments, the true future of human advancement lies in discovering a material his species calls “Dark Hydrogen.” Dropping heavy wordplay regarding “pressures,” “angles,” and transforming humans from “diamonds in the rough,” he encourages humanity to treat physics like a giant jigsaw puzzle, asserting that independently solving these technological riddles is the only true currency that grants a species its cosmic freedom.

Image: This picture of the week shows four powerful laser beams leaving Unit Telescope 4, or ‘Yepun’, at ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile’s Atacama desert. These form the VLT’s 4 Laser Guide Star Facility, which enables astronomers to take extremely crisp images of the cosmos by employing a technology known as adaptive optics. Using adaptive optics, telescopes are able to correct for the effects of atmospheric turbulence, which causes the “twinkling” and blurring of stars and other objects in the sky. To do this, a deformable mirror reshapes itself up to 1000 times per second based on the observed turbulence. Astronomers measure turbulence by monitoring a bright star in the field of view. If there isn’t a suitable star, they create artificial stars in the Earth’s upper atmosphere using lasers. The lasers in this image have a very specific orange-yellow colour (with a wavelength of 589 nm), exciting sodium atoms about 90 km above ground, causing them to shine like a star. In the backdrop, almost appearing to follow the path of the laser beams, is the familiar band of the Milky Way stretching across the sky. Also visible is a faint green wash in the sky that results from a phenomenon known as airglow, which is light naturally emitted by atoms and molecules in the atmosphere. Airglow is only visible in areas where the sky is dark enough not to be overshadowed by light pollution (Photo by ESO via Wikimedia Commons)

Reptiliandude: The laser was a device invented with no idea of what purpose or function it would serve.

And yet…

Well, imagine that.

Not to change the subject, but the reasons you’re not hearing purposeful radio waves from other worlds is because of many factors.

There’s stellar noise, the fact that when we do use radio communication it is more often than not accomplished via spread spectrum techniques or extremely high frequencies.

And it’s also because the radio landscape beyond your system has been somewhat ‘obscured.’

Part of this is a result of natural circumstances while the other part of it has been ‘directed’ due to your quarantine.

Essentially, you’ve been white-noyzd.

Most of the general public don’t have the slightest idea of how radio waves work.

Odd that few complained when the subject of radio propagation and its specifics were removed from the general science curriculums of your middle schools.

Anyways, all radio waves have a speed limit, and they possess unique characteristics depending upon which ones are used, who uses them, and for what purpose.

Take your police for example.

If they are in a rural area, lower frequencies are better for propagation between foliage and across large swarths of land that would swallow and drown the shorter wavelengths without expensive repeaters to ‘draw them’ out of the ‘waters.’

If they operate in the city, and have to run through brick buildings and travel up stairs or in elevators they need tight frequencies that will bounce around like a pinball betwixt bumpers till the message escapes, so long as there is an opening in which there is no metal.

Again, they need repeaters if such ‘communications’ tools are to operate within acceptable efficiency.

Unless they’re operating underwater, then they would need ‘gamma rays’ but that would be silly and dangerous.

I cannot overemphasize how ‘gamma rays’ would be quite effective especially around water that has heavy weight, but that is neither here nor there as the deeper the ‘hydrogen’ dioxide goes and the more pressure is placed upon it, the ‘darker’ it gets.

In scientific applications where communications over longer distances are involved it’s more like ‘aiming through a scope and hitting a target,’ if not actually using light itself.

But here’s the thing…

One day, your species might discover how to make a little something mine calls, “Dark Hydrogen.”

It makes quite the ‘clamor’ if you toss it up to the ‘ceiling.’

But be sure to wear a hardhat because it has properties that would create good ‘cannonballs.’

Right now there isn’t a lot of ‘pressure’ for you to create it, but some of my own species consider yours to be ‘diamonds’ in the rough.

Sometimes we make things just to see if they can be made, and if they don’t kill us we often discover completely by accident that they or the effects caused by or leading up to their creation have other strange uses.

Creatures with an uncanny ability to ‘adapt’ to change possess unique perspectives on things.

Especially when they consider all the ‘angles.’

Even if they may get frustrated and ‘strike’ something hoping that a good rap will either ‘jostle’ it, or make it obey because we have become frustrated enough to ‘vent’ our own frustrations.

Anyways, I’ve got an old ‘jigsaw puzzle’ I’m working on again and I’d show it to you if I could, but where would the fun in that be?

Better for you to put it together yourself so you can take pride in the accomplishment.

After all, your currency is your own.

And with certain currencies comes ‘freedom.’

Hope to ‘hear’ from you soon. 😉
