For the most part, you are jumping at your own shadows.

But if you knew the precise details of your pre-history—that is, before the cataclysm which ushered in the Younger Dryas—you would become even more fearful and paranoid than you are now.

How could we possibly explain to the people of this world, that we reptilians caused the deaths of hundreds of millions of human beings in order to plunge another planet’s economy into a global economic depression as a punitive measure?

It’s not like we can puff ourselves up and say we did it for altruistic reasons, when we ourselves were heavily invested in the bond market of the very people who were harvesting your species en mass.

Although I was hesitant to admit this earlier, we were not the beneficiaries of their life extension endeavors. This was the species which attacked my world many hundreds of years prior, and we had been in innumerable conflicts with them since. The thought of them outliving us and offering others like them this everlasting life; or even worse, seducing our own to turn us against each other for this promise was more than we could bear.

The way that we were able to get other dominions to give tacit approval for our actions was that the Ael’Kayeen had created puppet governments of psychotic humans who’s own lives were also extended by continual harvestings, which were promoted by, and through the use of technologies misused into tricking the naive into thinking that they were gods.

We appealed to the religious sensibilities of our allies, and to their fears of conquest by a race which was trying to conquer death through the blood sacrifice of innocents forced into evolving, only to be uprooted like weeds within their own world.

Vice, cruelty and corruption spread throughout the Earth as these men enslaved and abused all within their grasp. Every evil was indulged in, for there was no code of law save the rule of power and the satiation of their own desires.

The cancer of human sacrifice, the cost to the human psyche and the reoccurring specter of sexual abuse and sexually transmitted diseases brought about by both the direct involvement and the cargo-cult responses to the bio-industry of the Ael’Kayeen had to be stamped out, and the mop up work took thousands of years, requiring the establishment of a more salubrious religion embraced by a human tribe that would survive the transitory nature of nation states, and the capriciousness of their state-concocted gods.

We caused the damage which drove out the Ael’Kayeen. But, because we bankrupted their economy, and now limited their lifespans save for only a remnant who retained the practice of life extension at great inconvenience, responsibility for the reconstruction effort as well as the burden for its cost now fell upon my species.

So, It was more of a cost-saving measure on our part to have you police yourselves in the name of religion, rather than any sort of altruism on our parts.

That is not to say that there aren’t those amongst ourselves who absolutely adore human beings, and, as has been demonstrated in the past would even willingly die for you.

But honestly, to put it bluntly, the last several thousand years of your history have been nothing more than damage control.

And that damage came into being because of an unparalleled acceleration of your evolution for the purpose of creating incredible wealth through an industry of life extension for a self-centered species whose laws forbade them from experimenting as such on their own.

You were not made to be slaves. You were made to be cattle—specifically, genetic cattle.

The last several thousand years of your history is an embarrassment to all concerned.

And so, you remain under a type of quarantine, amongst creatures thousands of years more advanced than yourselves; bogged down in a never-ending legal battle over whether you are property, or free.

As for our current dealings with your species, that will take time to explain.

You first have to understand that you are not just one species, and that part of the argument over your disposition involves which species is dominant.

It does not help that you allow those without conscience and empathy to rule over you.

The ability to feel empathy for another, and appreciate the consequences of one’s behavior is to understand the concept of good and evil.

This is something which we tried to instill in you from the beginning.

It really is what gives you humans your humanity.

How you can claim to be made in the image of God, and then proclaim from the rooftops that a business is a person, is nothing short of promoting the flow of wealth to the level of a divine institution.

That’s really what got your species into this whole mess in the first place.
