THE KAYEEN
The Totalitarian Mirror: The Third Reich, the Shogunate, and Alien Power Structures
Garbotalk defines the political landscape of the Consortium by comparing the Ael’Kayeen to a high-tech Third Reich, defined by pervasive surveillance, military discipline, and a reward system based on absolute obedience. In contrast, the Naigaje are described as a decentralized Shogunate composed of independent family “Houses” that prioritize property rights and honor over bureaucratic control. While the Kayeen represent a “Borg-like” future of total documentation and managed “product,” the Naigaje model offers a more ancient, house-based autonomy, leaving humanity caught between two alien power structures that view “freedom” and “dominion” in radically different ways.

garbotalk: The Third Reich actually is a good representation of how the Kayeen operate with all the rules, surveillance, military emphasis, restrictions and documentation of everything. Also, the reward system providing opportunities for those who follow and obey without question is similar. Should they try to directly take over Earth, it would be much like that.
shudder
ACuriousHumanBeing: I see. Would the Naigaje be like then? America?
garbotalk: My understanding is it is most like the Japanese Shogunate system, with important family “houses” that are independent but cooperative on mutual endeavors.

ACuriousHumanBeing: Ah yes.
We humans just love to experiment with different power structures.
I wonder what the others are like.
Only time may tell.
