Once you dash hope away, and take away the possibility of someone being better, they will despair, and have no motivation to improve themselves.

ACuriousHumanBeing: Well I think its a bit silly to say your feelings are irrelevant, or your judgement hollow. While god may be the final voice, that doesn’t mean your own doesn’t matter.

I think its wise to work on it. Don’t dash away your morals, but think on them, refine them, and judge them. Your morals need to evolve as you evolve, and grow nuanced as you grow nuanced.

Just continue growing dude, and don’t be afraid to change your approach if that approach is giving you problems.

DestinyAcension: Should have left my trap shut and stuck to topic . I came off as cold, judgemental, and cruel. What am I to do? I can’t feel the same for this man as the way I feel when say for example reading of that orca pushing its calf after its still birth. The sorrow is unsurpressable, automatic without second thought but I’m a scathing cunt towards my own species wtf? Unable to shed a tear at family funerals but morn the loss of a pet. Perhaps I just haven’t seen enough good in mankind or im just lacking in faith.

lelekfalo: I get it. I understand how you feel, but I also understand that no matter how many people’s lives a man affects in a negative manner, there is still someone left hurting by their passing. And I know that for as much as I didn’t like the man for what I knew of him, expressing my negative opinion of him will do no one any good at this particular time. Right now is a time to allow those who admired the man (for whatever reason) to grieve, and for those who disliked (but were not immediately or directly harmed by) him to gracefully step aside and bite our tongues for a bit. (And I don’t mean to come off as preachy, so I apologize if I came off that way at all.)
