Assembly Intervention and the Ba'alaket Precedent

Reptiliandude warns of the severe consequences of Assembly intervention, citing the Ba’alaket as a species that was forcefully “pushed back” after overstepping their bounds with that governing body. While the current status quo under the Consortium is exploitative, he suggests that humanity should weigh the consequences of a total abandonment of that system versus a mutually beneficial compromise. He cautions that once the Assembly arrives to “clean things up,” they typically halt all inter-world and inter-solar interactions for approximately one thousand years. This isolation period is presented as a significant challenge for a human species that habitually suffers from “continual cycles of amnesia”.

Reptiliandude: It was the Assembly that the Ba’alaket got in trouble with in the first place.

They thought they were being cute and pushed it, then got pushed back.

Their backsides are still smarting over that one.

Again, I’d carefully weigh the consequences of entirely abandoning the Consortium when a compromise that benefits both parties could well be made.

You’re already used to the way things are…

This world is familiar to you.

Once they hit the ground, the Assembly isn’t very receptive on inter-world or inter-solar interaction for about a thousand years or so.

It really does take that long to ‘clean things up.’

And yours is a species that suffers from continual cycles of amnesia.
