The Etymology of ‘Ba’

THE BA 'ALAKET

The Etymology of 'Ba'

Reptiliandude breaks down the linguistic roots of the Ba’alaket faction, explaining that the prefix “Ba” translates to breath or soul, while “Alaket” represents divine beauty, light, or gift. Together, the name conveys “Bright Souls” or “Beauty that compels kindness.” He notes that his own reptilian species affectionately uses the intentional mistranslation “pretty breaths” as a sincere compliment because the venomous saliva of the Ba’alaket gives their breath a distinct flowery, musky aroma—juxtaposed against his own species’ venomous breath, which smells like fresh candied fish. This sparks a lighthearted culinary debate among the forum members regarding seafood preferences and pet hygiene. Grounding the conversation back in cosmic law, Garbotalk clarifies that their full title is the Ael’Ba’alaket, revealing that the prestigious “Ael” honorific is legally granted only to advanced interstellar civilizations that have successfully answered the deep-space beacon and mastered real-time communication.

The nebula, located about 700 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius, belongs to a class of objects called planetary nebulae. Discovered in the 18th century, these colorful beauties were named for their resemblance to gas-giant planets like Jupiter. TheConspiracyEnds: Why Ba’alaket and not Ael’alaket? What is the significance of the ‘Ba’?

↳ reptiliandudeThe ‘Ba’ means ‘Breath’ or ‘Soul’ which are associated as the same. ‘Alaket’ depending on how you say it means ‘divine beauty’ ‘divine gift’ or ‘divine light.’ Combined, the name essentially means ‘Bright Souls’ or ‘Beauty that shines, making a clear path’ or ‘Beauty that compels kindness’ or ‘Gifted Ones.’ Like the term ‘humanity,’ it has more than one meaning. My species often calls them ‘pretty breaths’ because it is an intentional mistranslation that sounds insulting but is actually intended as a sincere compliment because the venom in their saliva makes their breath smell like a flowery musk. We also have venomous saliva, but it more often than not makes our breath smell like fresh candied fish. That actually sounds much worse than it really is.

» lelekfalo: Thank you!

» explorer1357: Damn man… Did you brush your teeth this morning?? I can smell your nasty breath through the pixels on my phone…

» reptiliandude: Smells awesome to us. We just so happen to really like fish, that’s all.

» explorer1357: Lol I cannot stand seafood unless its raw shrimp…

» Cosmickev1086: You eat RAW shrimp?! Ewww cook that bottom feeder!

» explorer1357Lol my parents used to make this thing called cebiche and its just raw shrimp cucumbers and onions mixed with a bunch of lemon and some salt. Thats as far as seafood ill go… Cooked shrimp or any other seafood for that matter makes me wanna puke just from smelling it.

» DestinyAcension: Like worse as in dried candied fish or not as bad as in fish sauce?

» Brotato_Potatonator: My cats have fish breath and I still love them XD. I just had some anchovies on my pizza so I shouldn’t be the one to talk. Have anything to say about human’s breath?

garbotalk: They are the Ael’Ba’alaket. The Ael signifies that they have learned to speak in real time and answered the beacon. Hopefully soon, we shall gain that designation too.
