The Fibonacci Broadcast: Tool, Quantum Realism, and Navigating the Cosmic Simulation

In this collaborative discussion, user velezaraptor outlines a technical framework for a low-cost satellite broadcast using infrared radiation and harmonic oscillators, urging humanity to maintain absolute sovereignty rather than engaging in economic trade with extraterrestrial entities. The focus shifts to the band Tool, with users noting how the intricate rhythm and lyrical structure of the song “Lateralus” perfectly embed the Fibonacci sequence, proposing it as humanity’s ideal maiden transmission to the universe. Reptiliandude strongly supports this initiative, ordering them to rediscover communication and broadcast the sequence in real time as fast as possible. He pairs this directive with a profound philosophical warning against both scientific nihilism and religious fundamentalism, arguing that both extremes mistakenly isolate humanity from the cosmic process. Instead, he urges them to “walk the jagged edge” between faith and reason, reminding the community that they reside within a vast probability simulation where human thought acts as a vital state of matter and an essential processor of reality.

velezaraptor: We must put the singularity (in part) back together. A proponent of parts assembled with software created by meat, created by spirit/plasma through the One. I literally hear the pieces calling me to be put back together.

A pulsing wavelength of IR radiation… the oldest ‘light’ around. I think IR would make a good test signal. Cost: Really cheap. A satellite with harmonic oscillators chirping away. Eh, I’ve done the math enough to know hitching a ride or creating a conglomerate to reach the target trajectory point is best. The good part of 50-100k. A Fusion reaction with a minimum of four gigawatts of thermal output converted to electricity (depending on proximity of receiver) to spark the electromagnetic pulse. 50 MM. easy.

Finding maple syrup for $40? Priceless.

ACuriousHumanBeing: $40, that little? Honestly, we can charge so much much much more to these aliens. Never forget. The bargaining is in our favor.

velezaraptor: There should be no economy between humans and EBEs. “It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world” — George Washington. We must always hold ourselves as priority one. And to the lesser extent, always love yourself more than anything else. Our resonance, our position, the topology… All of us need to study together.

Deckard256: Before I stop bothering you this nice Sunday morning… I’ve seen Tool in concert twice, once in ’97 and again about five years ago. Both times I saw them, I got something very different from their music. Just like right now, these lyrics mean so much more than they would have back in the day. I’m going to have to go back and listen to their albums again soon. Anyways, thanks for getting me to think, RD. Hope the day meets you well, and hat tip to the good choice in music.

dogsdontfly: I’ve seen them thrice, and APC once. Well, almost. I always seem to get physically ill whenever I’m in proximity to Maynard. Missed a huge portion or the entirety of each of those shows. Maynard has a deep understanding of something that’s going on. “Lateralus” simply is the Fibonacci sequence: in lyrical content, in rhythm, in dynamics… It’s an amazing piece of work. And his wine’s pretty good, too. 😁

Deckard256: Rock on, you just knocked open a memory of a YouTube video that was of one of Tool’s tracks—probably this one—that had the sequence built into it. I’ll have to dig for it later. I hear he has a Vineyard next door in AZ, I might have to put that on the road trip list for this summer.

dogsdontfly: This one? I stayed next to the vineyard in Cottonwood. Absolutely beautiful. Check out Caduceus Cellars in Jerome, too. That part of the country has a very special feel to it.

Deckard256: Yes this is it. This track should be our first message out.

dogsdontfly: THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING!!! Finally, someone gets it!

ACuriousHumanBeing: Fine, as long as we send out twinkle twinkle little star also.

reptiliandude (Admin): You’re quite welcome. Please, ‘rediscover communication’ and learn to ‘broadcast’ the Fibonacci sequence in real time as quickly as you can.

Deckard256: Trying to. This little problem of tugging on the strings of entangled starlight has had me getting some classes on quantum physics going. Lots to learn.

reptiliandude (Admin): Beware of the dogma of accident. It makes everything a by-product and shit. As a result you will eventually think of yourself as ‘shit.’ This opinion couched as an immutable dogma blinds you to the fact that you are in fact, in a probability simulation.

Your contributions to it is to provide another state of matter—‘thought’—which gives perspective to its organizational qualities. Never forget this. You can influence change that snowballs into an inconceivable level, but you must not make the same mistake which both the religious fundamentalist and the atheist make… and that is that they separate themselves from being a vital part of an actual process.

Man is a separate creation, a lord over all (albeit cursed) to one and a glorified accidental bacteria with no purpose to the other. They are two sides of the same damn coin. So walk along the jagged edge so you can visualize its real dimensions from both sides at the same time.

Know that the first imagines that he is the center of the universe while the secondary one in his arrogance imagines that reality only exists because he thinks it into being. Walk the edge… walk the edge. Never shipwreck and exile yourself from the strength in knowing that you are a vital and valuable part of this information processor. Reality is not what you have been led to believe it is. And you are so much more than the limitations placed upon you here in this stellular structured time.

Deckard256: I consider myself a generalist, not a specialist. That’s a heresy these days, but I think people who get wrapped up in one way of thinking end up becoming slaves to the dogma, as you put it. One of my favorite quotes is from a TV series, “one gets farther with the shoes of faith and reason, rather than with one shoe.” The nuns at the catholic school I went to used to tell us the spirit of God was in all of us and that our bodies are its temple. I’ve interpreted those ideas differently as I get older, and now days it’s made me have a deeper appreciation for all life, even different religions that I may disagree with; there’s a spark in all of this and it’s all got its role to play. Even for its users and abusers.

ACuriousHumanBeing: I guess that means we need be careful with our temple, but it is ultimately our temple.

garbotalk: (Shares the lyrics to “Schism” by Tool) What an amazing song. The cold silence of atrophy reducing empathy wholly explains what is happening to the Consortium. Our communicating by answering the beacon will allow us to build a better future for ourselves. We must do it while we still can.

dogsdontfly: Really?! Still no “Lateralus?!” Come on, man!
