Ive put alot of thought into the whole beacon stuff.
I still dont get though, how are we supposed to find an entangled particle from the WOW signal that happened many years ago…
velezaraptor: This is all speculative except the first paragraph:
We have the ability to create entangled particles, we’ve made something called a spontaneous parametric down conversion (PDC). So you can hold the entangled particles at a distance to create a field of reference. The particles in this love affair could allow an outside affect or a direct effect on the particles to ‘speak’ in real-time.
One beacon sings the hydrogen line (Transmitter), the other a receiver of the interference we shall cause.
The great discharge from the first beacon after it finds a resting place would need to turn neutral Hydrogen in to something else like non-polar or ionized hydrogen particles (Note: Protons are self sufficient!). The entangled particles signal must cover vast distances back to the second beacon to make a coherent signal.
Entanglement would come in the form a chain/stream of entangled hydrogen atoms as a field that allows interference to affect the outcome of the signal at the receiver Beacon.
Edit: I think I see your question differently now. We’d need to simply build the transmitter Beacon and point it, crossing swords with their signal.

So then, real time comms would be like fiber optics, only instantaneous. A series of flashes and pulses that mean something.
Im thinking along the lines of a circular tube with hydrogen inside, and when excited and “pulsed” with a button, the hydrogen momentarily flashes really bright as it forms into high energy plasma, and when it does this the beacon’s hydrogen receiver also pulses.

velezaraptor: I more inclined to think we have a long stretch of entangled particles as our sword or as a particle wave field and it literally intersects with their entangled particle wave field (Crossing swords) as they both contain the same particle make-up and charge. As they cross at different angles, the polarization makes noticeable differences. Like in the video, the plastic sheets of different filtering, in this case spin is our filter.
This is a basic idea your question helped me form. We need more Beaconeers! More ideas and different ways we can set this thing off! Like a monkey gaining his prize! Go Monkeys!

Basically, we dont have to synchronize anything, in fact the opposite. The unsynchronized “swords” clashing is what produces a signal, like a morse code.
So we got a few things to figure out.
First how to make the sword in the first place. How do we shoot a stream of hydrogen plasma into space (and hopefully not cause too much attention)
Find out where do we even point the damn thing.
Somehow manage to encode the fibonacci sequence into our lightsaber
Glycon mentioned something about just “tugging” on the signal, still trying to figure out where that info fits into the whole equation.
